Welcome
I’m Dr. Nicolas Warner, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist serving the diverse communities of Chicago. It can be difficult to cope with our sometimes turbulent thoughts and feelings, to understand our motivations and behaviors, to interact constructively and healthily with others, and to deal with daily pressures and difficulties. Mental and emotional difficulties can make all these tasks even more difficult. I believe all people can benefit from insight-oriented therapy, which can illuminate limiting or troubling patterns of thought and behavior, improve troubled relationships, and make it easier to cope with difficult life circumstances.
I work with individuals on such issues and concerns as:
- Depression, Bipolar Disorder
- Anxiety, panic attacks
- Self-esteem and identity issues
- Life transition difficulties and stressors
- Relationship difficulties
- Men’s issues
- Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender identity concerns
- Grief and loss
- Spiritual and existential concerns
My approach to therapy is holistic, relational, and integrative. My work is primarily psychodynamic/psychoanalytic but I also borrow from other theories. I work with individuals to address specific concerns and difficulties and tailor treatment to address each individual’s unique difficulties. I assist individuals in identifying and removing the blocks to self-insight and happy, healthy living by becoming more consciously aware of internal psychological dynamics and promoting positive change.
Much more information can be found throughout my website so please take a look around. I’m currently accepting new clients and offer convenient hours in a comfortable, easily accessible office in the Bridgeview Bank Building in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago’s north side. Whether you are seeking individual or couples therapy, or a psychological consultation, I invite you to contact me to discuss how I can help you. I look forward to talking with you!
